Does my checkout still work the same?
Yes. The app opens Shopify's own checkout in a native sheet. Discounts, gift cards, Shop Pay, your payment gateways and your shipping rules behave exactly as on your web store. We don't touch checkout.
Do I really need my own Apple and Google accounts?
Yes. Apple rejects apps that an app builder submits on a store's behalf, so every app builder works this way. Using your accounts also puts your company name on the listing, and the app stays yours if you leave.
How long until my app is in the stores?
Two to four weeks for a first launch if your company already has a D-U-N-S number. Most of that is waiting for Apple to verify your company and for the stores to review the app. Without a D-U-N-S number, add the time to get one: Apple says to allow up to five business days, and Dun & Bradstreet says it can take up to 30. The launch check gives you an estimate for your own situation.
What happens when I change my home screen?
The change reaches every installed app over the air, usually within a minute. Only changes to native code, such as a new SDK, need a store submission, and we handle those.
Where does my customer data live?
Customer accounts, orders and carts stay on Shopify. We store your app design and the push tokens needed to send notifications, under a data processing agreement, with access logging and encryption at rest.
Is this a webview wrapper?
No. The app is built with React Native and Shopify's mobile SDKs, so scrolling, gestures, images and navigation are native. The only web page in the app is Shopify's checkout, which opens in a native sheet.
What does the AI do?
It reads your products, collections and order history through the Shopify permissions you grant. From that it suggests a home screen layout, drafts push notifications and orders product rails for each shopper. Nothing goes live until you accept it.
My business is a sole proprietorship. Can I launch on iOS?
Not on iOS. Apple only lets invited teams sign builds on Organization accounts, which need a registered legal entity and a D-U-N-S number. Android is possible with a personal Google Play account, but new personal accounts must first run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days in a row. We check this with you before you pay anything.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from your Shopify admin like any other app. Billing stops at the end of the cycle. The app is published under your accounts, so the store listings stay yours.
Which Shopify plans are supported?
Every current Shopify plan, because they all support the Storefront API. Shopify Plus stores get the same product, with priority for custom sections.
